For our tech last week we were learning about the parts of flowers and how flower cycles are. We started off together by getting everyone to understand what observation and insight means, observation means to look around carefully, and insight is the power of act of seeing into or understanding a situation. There are a accurate 300,000, to 400,000 different speices of flowers.
First we sat in a group of 3 or 2 and read the text on the book to each other. After we read it to eachother we highlited the different parts of the flowers, the function, and the nouns. This helped our knowledge for later so when our whole class got together we had an understanding of the things, then when we found the functions our partner or group 0f 3 went up and wrote the word and meaning.
Next we sat in a circle and done some of the extension work, one of the tasks included colouring in the parts of different flowers, highlighting the parts of the flowers, and holding a flower to feel some of the parts.
Lastly we got a piece of paper and it had all the different parts of the flowers on it, on this piece of paper we had to, finish the unfinished words, finish sentences, make connections with the flowers we were given to give us hints, and observe the functions of the flowers. After we were done we were given a lollie for the good work in trying, and we made sure our answers were correct by checking with our classmates, when we were done we gave our piece of paper to our teacher and we made sure she ticked our papers off and then we started to pack up.
I enjoyed this task because learning about different types of functions was amazing especially when we were observing different types of flowers.
