Volcanic eruption

For inquiry we learned about volcanoes and what the different types are. What causes a volcanic eruption? The volcano erupts when 2 tectonic plates crash and touch each other that can make the magma rise to the Earth’s surface which can rise and flow out onto the flat surface of land (that can cause damage to buildings and people, etc…). While it’s erupting, the gas goes everywhere including it going higher than the clouds are usually at. Once the pressure is high enough, the magma erupts which could push through the volcano’s vent. What are the 4 types/differences of volcanoes? The 4 types of volcanoes are shield, cinder cone, composite (another word is stratovolcanoes and lava domes. I enjoyed doing this task because we got to understand how volcanoes erupt and learn what its caused by.

Matariki Star

LI: to plan, to design, and create a class star for matariki that tells a story.

For this task I designed a matariki star. I  added some few ideas and details on paper, deciding what design I should choose. All the star designs I chose has a story behind it like the star above has the meaning of matariki stars.

For this acivitiy,  I found it entertaining because I had fun designing my star.

Art

This we done art and for art we had to make a sea animal and put dye after we made a animal it could only be a sea animal.

First we had to get out a draft and draft a design a animal in the sea. I only could use crayons because the dye could go over it.

Next after I was done I had to go and show my work and then they had to give me a pubilish oneand I had to try to draw the same thing as I did on my draft.

Lastly I was done and then I had to wait until my name was called out. Then I had to put dye on it and then I had to wait until it was dry then it could go on the wall.

I enjoyed this task because its fun. I did well at this task because it helps me learn. I need to improve on putting the dye on.
