SLJ kick start – Narwhals

For this task Summer learning journey task I was challegend to create a poster about narwhals based off of the links and videos we could watch that was provided for us. A interesting fact I learned about narwhals is that they change colors as they age from blue – gray when they are newborns, Juveniles are blue to black, and adult narwhals are a motted gray , and when they are old they are nearly almost white. This fact helped me to recongnise which narwhal is which. Another fact I learned about narwhals is that they spend their lives mainly around the artic of Canada, Greenland, Norway, and Russia.

I enjoyed this task because this helped me learn about narwhals and help me to identify them and how they are aged.

SLJ: Masks of Te Moana – Step it up

For this task, I created a digital Swimming mask based on a sea creature, as it was a choice of  a Tribal mask or a Swimming mask I made the desicion of swimming mask, and this mask was created from different shapes and textures as you can see, I chose a duck, with big sharks teeth. I chose this as a representation of a whio/blue duck but it wasn’t exactly like a whio I chose to use bright colors as this duck also represents the baby ducks that went swimming one day. I used the template that was given for us to use on the Summer Learning Journey site. I enjoyed this task because it let me get creative and let me use my imagination of two images.

SLJ Kick start – Fish origami

Our challenge for this task was to make an origami fish. In order to do this task we used papper, marker to draw the eyes, and scissors (it depends on what size you want your fish to be, but if not then you dont need them). Something I learnt about origami is that the art of origami provides both mental and physical stimulation, as it engages the mind, cultivates concentration, and develops fine motor and hand-eye coordinations. My favourite part about this challenge was that I could use my creativity on this task.

kick start- Wanted Fish

For this Summer Learning Journey task we had created a warning/wanted poster of a stonefish. I have listed three iteresting facts I learnt about these species. The three facts: I learnt that this vicious animal is fast predators,  another fact I learnt is that they are nocturnal animals (which means they sleep through the day and hunt for they’re prey at night), and the last fact I learnt about the Stonefish is that these are very venomus fishes.
